They Never Gave Up On Us

Durango, Colorado is a small city in southwestern Colorado with a population of 18,503. This Federally Qualified Health Center serves a draw area of 62,000. Axis Health primarily serves the uninsured and underinsured community but is also an attractive option to the rest of the community because of their outstanding care. Because of community need, Axis Health decided to expand their medical staff and decided to award two searches to The Hire Connection.

Shelly Burke, COO of Axis Health has never regretted her decision to initiate her searches with The Hire Connection. Shortly after signing an agreement for 2 searches, THC filled the Family Practice search with an outstanding candidate who wears a couple of hats; serving as the Chief Medical Officer along with maintaining his clinical skills seeing patients 3 days a week. After filling the Family Practice search, The Hire Connection was left with a Psychiatric search that had gone unfilled for quite some time before the assignment was given to THC. Bryan Majercik, physician recruiter with THC, worked tirelessly providing Ms. Burke and her team with 5 qualified candidates.

The Hire Connection almost filled the search many months ago with a great candidate from New Mexico but ultimately did not secure that physician. Bryan continued to source candidates as he does for all of his clients and was finally able to provide Axis Health with Psychiatrist who signed an agreement with the organization. When we asked Ms. Burke what she loved about The Hire Connection, she quickly said, “They never gave up. When other firms would have simply quit working the search, they continued to work the search and bring it to a successful completion.” We asked her why she thought the search was challenging to fill, she simply said, “Psychiatrists are very difficult find these days”.
